CREATIVE RESIDENCY *

The expansiveness of the Chihuahuan Desert provides the perfect backdrop for reflection, solitude, creativity, energy, movement, awareness, transcendency, productivity, and the unknown.

The Highland Adobe residency program invites artists and creatives from all disciplines and backgrounds to stay at Highland Adobe for a 2-3 week period to create work inspired by the Big Bend region. We seek to provide the space and support for creatives to make meaningful and impactful work, or to simply allow ideas the time be nurtured.

Our goal is to de-stigmatize the traditional residency application process, which encourages competition and requires creatives to prove the value of themselves and their work using benchmarks that are not universally accessible. We hope to continue to work towards removing the barriers that so often prevent people from having the resources or the support to create personally fulfilling work.
